Nebraska coach Matt Rhule, a clear candidate for the Penn State head coaching job , offered an appreciation for former Nittany Lion coach James Franklin, a strong endorsement for the current state of Husker football and a desire for NU to keep investing in its program, namely money to recruit and retain players.
“In a world of $30-40 million rosters, which isn’t going away, I’d like us to do the same thing,” Rhule said, stopping short of any irrevocable pledge to not leave Nebraska, where he’s in his third season. “Short of a ‘Hey, it’s not really the Nebraska way,’ and I’d like it to be.
“I’d like to invest. I’d like to be at the front of everything.”
