New Delhi, Oct 13: The final 20 Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for more than two years have been released and are now back in Israel, the Israeli officials confirmed on Monday afternoon.

According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), the freed captives were divided into two groups: seven were handed over from northern Gaza earlier in the day, and thirteen more were released from the south in the late afternoon. Their return marks the end of one of the most protracted hostage crises since the October 7, 2023, conflict between Israel and Gaza.
