FARGO — For the second time in three months, a Fargo woman has been convicted and sentenced to jail time for embezzling money from her employer.

While the charges in the first case filed against 35-year-old Alexis Engelking were reduced to a misdemeanor at a sentencing in July, state prosecutors argued that felony charges were appropriate in the second case. On Monday, Oct. 13, Judge Stephen McCullough agreed, sentencing Engelking to three years, first to serve 30 days with credit for six days already served, meaning she will spend 24 days in jail.

A restitution hearing will be held at a later date, and Engelking's attorney Alexis Madlom said she anticipated the amount her client will owe will be "fairly high."
