Conkers is in line for a second royal seal of approval after using the King’s chestnuts – as Prince Louis has been asked to become honorary patron of the World Conker Championships. ‌

Organisers, who used 300 nuts sent from Windsor Castle in Sunday’s 256-player tournament at Southwick, Northants, are waiting to hear a response from the Prince and Princess of Wales. ‌

They wrote to Wills and Kate two weeks ago, requesting Louis be made their honorary patron. ‌
