Two suspects face aggravated assault and robbery charges following a Friday night shooting on the south side of Tempe Town Lake, police said Monday.

Sergio Rodriguez Avila, 18, and Rafael Rodriguez Avila, 20, have been arrested in connection with the shooting that happened just after 11:42 p.m. Oct. 10, police said.

Detectives responded to the area of 700 West Rio Salado Parkway and learned two victims were riding on a scooter along the south side of the lake when “multiple suspects approached them.
