A 22-year-old Port Orchard man and 24-year-old Silverdale man were sent to the hospital Friday, Oct. 10 after a driver suspected of being under the influence hit a stopped vehicle heading in the same direction on Highway 303 in East Bremerton.

According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, a 64-year-old Poulsbo man was driving a 2021 Toyota Tacoma toward Bremerton in the right lane a few blocks north of Fairgrounds Road around 7 p.m. on Friday. At the same time a 2001 Honda Civic driven by the 22-year-old man was also traveling south in the right lane, and came to a stop.

The Toyota Tacoma ran into the stopped car and came to rest in the same lane, pushing the Civic across the median, where it came to rest in a northbound lane, according to the WSP incident report.
