Many high school football teams in the Las Cruces area were off last week, but there were still four that took the field for week eight.
They include Centennial, which suffered an upset on the road, and Organ Mountain, which saw its unfortunate losing ways continue in district play. Also in action were Chaparral, who fell in a road game, and Hatch Valley, who dominated en route to a 39-point victory.

The Hawks suffered a surprise defeat on the road in a game they spent all of it playing catch-up.
