Srinagar, Oct 13: The District Magistrate Baramulla, Minga Sherpa (IAS), on Monday ordered a ban on the flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across the district till October 31, 2025, citing security concerns ahead of the festive season.

According to the order issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, the prohibition follows a request from the headquarters 19 Infantry Division, which sought restrictions in view of inputs regarding possible smuggling and misuse of drones in Kashmir valley.
