ALBURGH, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - On Monday, Sandy Ladd of the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department, a long-time presence in firefighting in northwestern Vermont, was reported to have died.
His cause of death was not immediately available, but he was reported to have died "surrounded by his family."
The Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department wrote on social media, "Sandy only joined our department a few years ago but he brought with him a lifetime of experience and quickly became an integral part of our department.
"He instructed at the North Country International Fire Training School hosted in Alburgh as well as many others across the state and contributed to the development and safety of multiple generations of firefighters who hold him in deep regard. Sandy personified what we all strive to be as
