A conservative civil rights group has asked for its lawsuit against the University of Michigan and the Michigan Law Review Association to be dismissed without prejudice, meaning the group could refile it at a later date.
The Friday court filing by the Faculty, Alumni, and Students Opposed to Racial Preferences, or FASORP, did not give a reason why it was requesting the dismissal. Two of the three lawyers representing the group, including Ryan Giannetti of the America First Legal Foundation in Washington, D.C., did not immediately respond Monday to request for comment.
