INDIANAPOLIS -- An investigation is underway after a crash left one person critically injured Monday afternoon on the near south side of Indianapolis.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded around 3:33 p.m. to the 1700 block of S. West Street after receiving a report of a serious crash occurring in the area. This area is located just off White River Parkway East Drive.

IMPD confirmed that "at least" one person was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. As of this article's publication, IMPD has not confirmed how many vehicles were involved or if any other individuals sustained any injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
