ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Elko Police Department is looking for a hit and run suspect they say injured a 12-year-old.

They say that around 8:00 p.m. last Friday, officers responded to a report of a juvenile pedestrian who had been struck at the intersection of 12th Street and Clarkson Drive.

Witnesses told police the child was crossing the marked crosswalk when they were struck by an older model gray sedan driven by a man with long hair. They told police the suspect briefly stopped to yell at the child before fleeing the scene.

The child was taken to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
