The Winnipeg Jets‘ forward depth took another hit on Monday.
The Jets announced that winger Cole Koepke was removed from a game against the New York Islanders with a lower-body injury.
It’s unclear when the injury occurred, but before he left he did pick up his first point of the season with an assist on Morgan Barron’s goal to open the scoring.
Koepke, 27, was playing in his third game with the Jets after signing as a free agent this summer. He appeared in a career-high 73 games with the Bruins last year and has also appeared in 26 games with the Lightning in his career.
The Jets have been fighting the injury bug early in the season. The team was already playing without captain Adam Lowry, as well as Cole Perfetti, Dylan Samberg and Haydn Fleury.
