GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Big changes have arrived at the Brown County Courthouse for the way people enter and leave the building.
The county added a new security entrance checkpoint. It’s the last county courthouse of this size in the state to implement this type of security. The new complex security vestibule is where the public will enter and leave from the Brown County Courthouse, on the Walnut Street side, starting Tuesday morning.
The single point entry and law enforcement center security screening will have the public go through a metal detector and send their belongings through an x-ray screening machine. A scanner uses AI to detect weapons like firearms and knives, while the metal detector detects metallic objects that are on your person.
This project cost taxpayers $3.3 million
