SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- President Donald Trump was surrounded by world leaders on Monday, October 13, in Egypt, celebrating the long-awaited ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

As a result of the agreement, 20 living Israeli hostages have returned home.

Rabbi Evan Shore, of the Sha'arei Torah Orthodox Congregation of Syracuse, said October 13 was a day his synagogue won't forget.

"It was joyful, it was exhilarating. For the past two years, our synagogue, two times a day, has been praying for the release of the hostages," Shore said. "This morning in synagogue, everyone was smiling."

Every two months, the synagogue held rallies calling for the release of the hostages.
