NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is facing charges after a pedestrian was critically injured in a crash involving Dodge Chargers racing over the weekend in Nashville, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said that officers responded to the intersection of Jefferson Street and 4th Avenue North to reports of a crash late Saturday night.

The pedestrian, who was struck by a Dodge Charger, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries.

A preliminary investigation shows that a green Charger and a black Charger were racing on Jefferson Street. Witnesses told MNPD that the vehicles were seen speeding as they approached the intersection at 4th Avenue North.
