A new study published in the BMJ has uncovered the exact number of steps people should be aiming for each day to decrease their risk of mortality and cardiovascular disease.
10,000 steps per day has often been the target recommended for most people, but this study analysed whether a person’s normal activity levels affected how many steps they should do to find the optimal number for those who spend most of their daily lives sedentary.
