EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An event is taking place today to honor honor those lost to domestic violence and raise awareness about relationship abuse.
The University of Southern Indiana's Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group is set to host the annual Flowers on the Lake ceremony on Tuesday, October 14.
The event gets started at 4:30PM.
Students will speak about lives lost to domestic violence, followed by a moment of silence.
Guests will then scatter flower petals on Reflection Lake in honor of survivors and in memory of victims.
The event is sponsored by the USI Sexual Assault and Gender Violence Prevention Group, Albion Fellows Bacon Center, and YWCA Evansville.
It is open to the public at no charge.
