GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) — The Barren County Fiscal Court has entered an agreement with Blumberg Grain and Logistics to develop new grain storage infrastructure aimed at supporting local farmers.
Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd announced the project this week, saying it will help address the lack of storage options for corn and other grains grown in the region.
Farmers have faced higher transportation costs due to limited local facilities, according to a news release.
“Our farmers are the backbone of this region’s economy,” Byrd said. “The Fiscal Court and I are determined to provide the storage infrastructure our farmers need here in Barren County.”
