The more things change, the more they stay the same. Masslive.com’s Chris Cotillo reports former Boston Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek is ready to run it back in 2026.

“Heard Jason Varitek is ‘expected back’ with the Red Sox this year as of now. Of course, lots of openings across the game,” Cotillo posted on X.

One of those openings is in Minnesota and Twins are looking ready to change their Sox.

“Sources: Twins are seeking permission to interview Red Sox bench coach Ramon Vazquez for their manager opening,” the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports.

Echoing that is MLB.com’s Ian Browne .

“Alex Cora has been saying for a while that Ramon Vazquez deserves a chance to manage,” Browne posted on X.
