NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The bright light from a fireball lit up the skies over Middle Tennessee early Tuesday morning.

Security cameras across the region captured the blazing streak across the sky around 2:11 a.m.

The fireball had a bluish glow that illuminated the night as bright as daytime. It's possible the fireball was a meteor burning up as it reached Earth.

The Orionids meteor shower is currently underway, which is when Earth intersects with the dust cloud left behind by Halley's Comet. The meteor shower will continue until Nov. 7 with its peak expected the night's of Oct. 20-21.

If you have footage of the fireball, send it to pix@wkrn.com.
