COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina has renamed its Department of Sport and Entertainment Management in honor of the owner of the NFL's Carolina Panthers and his wife in recognition of a $5 million gift from their David and Nicole Tepper Foundation.
Following approval by the university’s Board of Trustees, the department will now be known as the "David and Nicole Tepper Department of Sport and Entertainment Management." The money will fund scholarships, faculty positions, and long-term support for students pursuing careers in sports and entertainment.
David Tepper has been the owner of the Panthers since 2018. Nicole Tepper serves as the chief administrative officer for the organization.
