ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis Metropolitan Police announced Tuesday that the driver involved in a crash with a scooter on Morganford Road earlier in October was an off-duty officer.
According to SLMPD, the crash on Oct. 1 at Morganford Road and River Des Peres involved in a 49-year-old man being struck by a Ford F-150 while he was riding his scooter.
The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, the police department announced that the 44-year-old driving the Ford was an off-duty SLMPD officer.
The off-duty officer was uninjured in the crash, which did not involve a department vehicle.
SLMPD says it is forwarding its findings of the crash investigation to the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
