CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Gerald R. Ford International Airport in the Grand Rapids area will not show Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s video blaming Democrats for the government shut down, officials said Tuesday.

Ford Airport is joining several other airports in refusing the TSA’s request to play the video. The Hill reported Tuesday morning that at least seven other airports, including the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York and the Portland International Airport in Oregon, will not be showing the video.

The federal government has been shut down since Oct. 1 after Congress failed to pass a budget for the 2026 fiscal year.
