MANNINGTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Mannington man has been charged for allegedly attacking an individual who was collecting money for a school fundraiser with a baseball bat and stealing his car.

On Oct. 9, troopers with the Marion County detachment of the West Virginia State Police were dispatched for an emergency call for service at a residence on Glade Fork Road in Mannington, according to a criminal complaint.

Troopers learned that a victim had gone to the residence to collect money owed for a school fundraiser, and that Mark Reel, 44, of Mannington, invited the victim into the home, troopers said.

When Reel invited the victim into the residence, Reel told the victim "he had something to show him," at which point Reel "came back into the residence holding a wooden baseball bat," according
