AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)-- Shaping the next generation of writers is the mission behind a special project that happens on AU's Summerville campus every summer.

Dr. Rebecca Harper is a full professor of literacy at Augusta University. She's the author of seven books and is the force behind AU's National Writing Project "Summer Institute." It's an immersive writing experience where teachers learn how improve their own writing, and how to be better teachers.

She tells us how the project is bringing extraordinary talent to our community, like a recent visit from Pulitzer Prize winning author, Rick Bragg, among others.
