The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place at a home in Macomb Township on Tuesday morning and left the victim hospitalized.

According to a news release, the shooting occurred about 10:15 a.m. at a residence in the area of 24 Mile and Foss roads.

Sheriff’s officials said the victim was transported to an area hospital where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators say they are looking for information about a dark-colored SUV that was seen fleeing east on 24 Mile from Wellington Valley Drive following the incident.

The public is urged to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.
