BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — An animal cruelty investigation is taking place in Bulloch County after neighbors complained of foul smells in the area.

Over 50 cats and dogs were found at a residence on the 1700 block of Sunnview Court, where a senior couple has been taken into custody after a raid occurred involving multiple agencies, including Animal Services.

The couple could face felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) and Criminal Investigation Unit's Capt. Todd Hutchens. The couple has not been officially charged yet and the severity of the charges will be released at a later time.
