Russia on Tuesday said that it is ready for peace talks to resolve the Ukraine conflict, adding that Kyiv’s continued stalling of negotiations has prolonged hostilities.

According to RT.com, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was responding to French President Emmanuel Macron’s post on X, in which he stated that Russia would have to “pay the price” if it did not come to the negotiation table.

Macron posted on X, “I spoke with President @ZelenskyyUa. As the agreement reached in Gaza offers a glimmer of hope for peace in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine too must come to an end.
