The college cross country regular season has come to a close with the Emporia State squad competing at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open. It would be a loaded field that featured 16 ranked teams from the NJCAA Division I and NCAA Division II.

The Hornets would compete against some of the best runners in Division II and in the NJCAA, with both teams finishing in the top ten. On the day, the men’s squad would finish in tenth place and be headlined by sophomore Dylan Hunter, who finished in 55th place at the Open. Hunter would be followed up by senior Treyton Laurence in 57th, and freshman Lucas Kreutzer in 63rd place. The top four runners on the men’s side would have their season-best run in an 8K.

The men’s team would finish in front of teams such as the number 21 team, Dodge City Community
