Federal Agriculture Minister Heath MacDonald is in Mexico this week. The primary focus of the trip is to strengthen Canada’s relationship with Mexico, open new opportunities, and diversify trade.
This visit builds on the September meeting between Prime Minister Carney and President Sheinbaum, during which the Canada-Mexico Action Plan 2025–2028 was announced.
MacDonald will meet with Julio Berdegué, Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Javier Calderón, Head of Mexico’s National Health, Safety and Quality Service, to discuss diversifying and expanding trade.
