Lloyds Banking Group is set to close down 218 bank branches across the UK in 2025, in a move affecting customers of Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and the Bank of Scotland.

An extra 71 closures are scheduled for 2026, bringing the total number of branch closures to 289 by the end of next year, reports Express.co.uk.

The banking group announced the closures are due to a significant shift in how customers interact with their banks , with more people opting for mobile and online services over traditional in-person banking.
