SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - The Sandy Springs Police Department is in a standoff with an armed man near Carroll Manor Drive after an officer was grazed by a bullet, according to officers.

What we know:

The police department tweeted a warning to avoid the area around the home 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officials said an officer responded to a "shots fired" call at a home on Carroll Manner Drive. When he arrived, a man started shooting, and the officer was grazed on the thumb.

The officer was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

FOX 5 flew over the area and saw officers with weapons drawn outside a home in the area, and the house's door was open.
