Kicker Jake Moody helped the Chicago Bears pull out a last-second win on Oct. 13 as they defeated the Washington Commanders 25-24 during Monday Night Football.

Moody, a Northville native who starred for the University of Michigan football team, kicked the game-winning field goal despite only learning on Sunday that he would be filling in for Cario Santos, who injured his quadriceps muscle.

“Hitting a game winner is always a good time. Doing it for a new team, my first game – it’s huge. … So, glad to be a part of a team like this, and we're going to keep moving forward,” Moody told USA Today.

Moody was drafted by the 49ers in the third round in 2023 and had played there since.
