At times, life can change with just one phone call. For Lucas Havrisik, that call came just as he was about to leave football behind and work as a substitute teacher. Then, out of nowhere, the Green Bay Packers offered him a chance he never expected.

A few days later, he found himself in Cincinnati, ready to kick a 39-yard field goal that could win the game. No nerves, no hesitation, just a perfect kick through the uprights. The Packers took a nine-point lead with under two minutes left and held on for a hard-fought win over the Bengals.

“It’s strange, but I just try to adapt,” Havrisik told reporters afterward, still adapting to the situation. “I was probably gonna do substitute teaching again, try and get my credentials in Cleveland if they needed any.”
