With a crosstown rivalry — and potentially much more — on the line, Sheldon's senior stars delivered when it mattered most.
In the latest iteration of " the Emerald Derby " the Class 6A No. 6 Irish beat No. 7 South Eugene, 2-1, at home on Oct. 13 in a clash that could go a long way toward deciding the Southwest Conference girls soccer title. With the win, first-place Sheldon moved to 10-1-1 and 7-1-1 in SWC play. The second-place Axe fell to 7-3-2 on the year and 6-2-2 in the league.
