ALGONA, Iowa —

Algona police said no charges will be filed after a gun was reported at Bishop Garrigan Catholic School on Oct. 7.

Authorities were called to the school and found the firearm on top of the bed cover of a pickup truck. Police said it was an accident and no charges are warranted at this time.

According to a release from Algona police, the firearm was inadvertently left on the truck when the owner was transferring belongings from one vehicle to another earlier that day.
