The pretenders and contenders are beginning to show themselves now that the 2025 NFL season approaches Week 7 on the schedule, and several games on the docket that should help unwind the early standings.
A classic AFC North clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals begins the action on "Thursday Night Football" and an intriguing AFC vs. NFC matchup in London featuring the annual pond-hoppers Jacksonville Jaguars and the dangerous Los Angeles Rams. The early Sunday afternoon slate lacks a marquee matchup, but the Philadelphia Eagles will try to get back on track after back-to-back losses in a road test against the Minnesota Vikings.
Emerging teams such as the New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers can also cement themselves as surprises with another win over one of the league's bottom dwellers. The Kansas City Chiefs face the Las Vegas Raiders after potentially turning their season around with a win over the Detroit Lions in Week 6.
An AFC playoff preview featuring the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers is the unlikely co-headliner during Sunday's late afternoon along with the first NFC East rivalry game between the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. Week 7 then ends with a bang as Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to play the Lions as two of the NFC's best take offer their own potential postseason preview in one of two "Monday Night Football" games.
Here is an early look at picks, predictions and odds for all of the Week 7 games on the 2025 NFL schedule:
NFL Week 7 game predictions, picks
Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 1:15 p.m. ET.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
- Date: Thursday, Oct. 16
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Paycor Stadium (Cincinnati)
- TV: None
- Streaming: Amazon Prime, NFL+
- Spread: Steelers (-5.5)
Sportsbook Wire: Steelers 27, Bengals 19
"The Steelers have a 73.3% chance to win this game based on the moneyline's implied probability. Pittsburgh has won three of the four games it was favored on the moneyline this season ... Cincinnati has been listed as the underdog four times this season and has failed to win any of those games."
BetMGM: Bet on the Bengals
"Joe Flacco, as expected, provided stability over Jake Browning for the (Bengals) offense. After turning the ball over 11 times between Weeks 2-4, Cincinnati avoided an offensive turnover against Green Bay. That is no small feat against a strong defense coming off a bye. Now, the Bengals get a fraudulent Steelers defense off a big win. Pittsburgh ranks 20th in defensive success rate this season ... Plus, Mike Tomlin has struggled to cover the spread as a big market favorite."
Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 9:30 a.m. ET
- Location: Wembley Stadium (London)
- TV: NFL Network
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
- Spread: Rams (-3)
The Athletic: Rams cover
"The Jags look to show they have more staying power this year after a 4-2 start. However, this is really a bet that their sleepy showing in Seattle better represents their true form than the prior week’s dramatic win over the Chiefs. If Puka Nacua gets ruled out, the line might actually tick down a couple of points, so you might want to wait a few days before pouncing."
Covers.com: Take the Jaguars
"Lean to the Jacksonville Jaguars in this tilt because the Los Angeles Rams are expected to be without go-to wide receiver Puka Nacua (ankle), and his absence will make the Los Angeles attack far less dangerous. ... Additionally, Jacksonville is far more accustomed to playing internationally. The Rams haven’t played in Europe since 2019, while the Jags have played annually across the pond since 2013 — except for 2020."
New Orleans Saints vs. Chicago Bears
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Soldier Field (Chicago)
- TV: FOX
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Bears (-5.5)
Sporting News: Bears 24, Saints 16
"The Saints have been outscored 75-32 in two road games. Chicago is coming off a short week, but Caleb Williams has a 115 passer rating with five TDs and no interceptions at home this season. If the Bears want to be a factor in the NFC playoff race, then they cannot stumble in games like this."
Arizona Republic: Bears 23, Saints 20
"Spencer Rattler is quietly putting up some decent stats for the Saints (139-for-203 passing, six touchdowns, one interception), but New Orleans' defense will be its undoing in a close loss in Chicago."
Miami Dolphins vs. Cleveland Browns
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Huntington Bank Field (Cleveland)
- TV: CBS
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Browns (-3)
Sports Illustrated: Take the Browns
"There's not much to praise the Browns for offensively, but at least their defense has been strong to start the season. Their pass rush has been effective, and they rank inside the top 10 in most metrics. Meanwhile, the Dolphins' defense is in the bottom three in the league ... That will set up rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel to have by far the easiest matchup he's had through his first few starts."
Covers.com: Dolphins have edge
"It’s unlikely that the Dolphins finish at .500 or better, but there are some glimmers of hope that their offense could at least pick them up some wins. They’ve been close to victories over the past two weeks, only losing to the Panthers by three points and Chargers, this past Sunday, by two. The Browns have failed to cover the spread in four of their six games this season, and with their offense really struggling, it’s smarter to take the more dynamic offense and the points this Sunday."

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, Missouri)
- TV: CBS
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Chiefs (-12)
Sporting News: Chiefs 28, Raiders 17
"That's a hefty line for an AFC West rivalry where three of the last four games have been decided by a TD or less. The Raiders have suffered blowout losses to the Chargers and Colts, and the Chiefs might have turned a corner with the victory against the Lions. There is blowout potential here, too, especially if Kansas City can generate a few turnovers."
Arizona Republic: Chiefs 30, Raiders 17
"The Raiders ended a four-game skid in Week 6. Can they start a win streak in Week 7? Don't count on it. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs got back on track in their win over the Lions."
New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Nissan Stadium (Nashville, Tennessee)
- TV: CBS
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Patriots (-7)
The Athletic: Bet on the Patriots
"Drake Maye has strung together five straight awesome performances ... He’s currently second in the league in completion percentage while also ranking in the top five in air yards/completion, an elite combo demonstrating an impressive acumen for exploiting opposing defenses in all three levels of the passing game."
Sports Illustrated: Patriots win big
"The Titans have fired their head coach, Brian Callahan, and ... an interim head coach isn't going to fix the fact that they're last in net yards per play (-1.7) ... Drake Maye, who has been playing at an MVP level this season, should be able to torch this defense and leave the Titans in the dust. The Patriots have had some defensive issues of their own, but their offense has been a top 10 unit."
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: U.S. Bank Stadium (Minneapolis)
- TV: FOX
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Eagles (-2)
Sporting News: Eagles 28, Vikings 24
"The Eagles have not lost three consecutive games since 2023, but the key will be improving a run defense that ranks 27th in the NFL. Saquon Barkley has been limited to 88 rushing yards or less in every game this season. He breaks out here on the road, and Jalen Hurts does the rest."
Covers.com: Lean toward Vikings
The Vikes are stuck between veteran QB (and former Eagle) Carson Wentz and injured QB1 J.J. McCarthy, who says his ankle is still not 100% after the extra rest. McCarthy’s mobility against the Philadelphia pass rush would be very valuable — similar to what we saw from New York rookie Jaxson Dart last week. ... Philly keeps finding itself in tight games, and this Vikings defense isn’t a “get right” opponent for the Eagles' offensive woes."
Carolina Panthers vs. New York Jets
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)
- TV: FOX
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Panthers (-2)
CBS Sports: Panthers 20, Jets 16
"The Panthers are 0-3 on the road this year and they've been outscored by an average of 16.7 points in those games. On the flip side, the Jets are 0-3 at MetLife and they've been outscored 101-64 in those games."
Bergen Record: Experts split on winner
Of the four Bergen Record experts picking Jets vs. Panthers in Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season, two chose the Jets to win and two favor the Panthers. "The biggest mismatch here is the Panthers' top-three rushing attack (142.7 rushing yards per game) against the Jets' rush defense, who have the 10th-worst rush defense (130 rushing yards allowed per game) but did a good job holding the Broncos solid ground game in check in Week 6," writes Bert Bainbridge.
New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Empower Field at Mile High (Denver)
- TV: CBS
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Broncos (-7)
The Athletic: Giants cover on the road
"Jaxson Dart has brought a new energy to the (Giants) offense, and the punishing pass rush provides a similar boost to a defense that held both the Chargers and Eagles under 20 points in the last few weeks. Gotta like their chances to keep the Broncos to a similar number after Denver’s lackluster showing against the Jets, where the Broncos needed a late field goal to edge out a team that totaled NEGATIVE 10 net passing yards. Denver displays a tendency to play at the level of their opponent."
Bergen Record: Every expert picks Broncos to win
Art Stapleton writes: "Jaxson Dart became just the third quarterback in the Super Bowl era to rush for at least 50 yards in each of his first three career NFL starts, joining Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. RB Cam Skattebo scored three touchdowns in the upset of the Eagles. Can the Giants do enough against a really good defense in Denver that is solid from front to back? I think Dart plays well, but it's asking a lot to go on the road and pull this one off."
Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, California)
- TV: CBS
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Chargers (-1.5)
CBS Sports: Colts 34, Chargers 27
"The Colts have been the most surprising team in the NFL this year, but if they have one weakness, it's their ability to stop the pass. ... Of course, even if Justin Herbert does go off, the Colts have an offense that can keep up in a shootout."
Sports Illustrated: Colts win
"It's time to start treating the Indianapolis Colts as legitimate Super Bowl contenders. You can say what you want about Daniel Jones' time in New York, but he has been the perfect quarterback for Shane Steichen's system, and the underlying metrics for this team back up their strong record. ... There are only a few teams the Colts should be underdogs against, and the Chargers aren't one of them."
Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Arizona)
- TV: FOX
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Packers (-6.5)
Arizona Republic: Packers 27, Cardinals 24
"The Cardinals have lost four straight games. The losses have been by a combined nine points. We predict more heartbreak for Arizona fans against Jordan Love and the Packers."
Sporting News: Packers 26, Cardinals 20
"The Packers have failed to cover each of the last three weeks. Jordan Love does have a 107.5 QB rating on the road, but he's also taken six sacks. The Cardinals are trying to break a four-game losing streak, but their three home games have been decided by five points or less."
Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas)
- TV: FOX
- Streaming: Fubo, NFL Sunday Ticket
- Spread: Commanders (-2)
Sports Illustrated: Commanders cover
"The Commanders should have no problem putting up points at will, so the only question in this game is whether or not the Cowboys' offense can keep pace. If they can't, the Commanders will win and cover."
Arizona Republic: Commanders 30, Cowboys 27
"The Cowboys have given up an NFC-worst 184 points and now get to try to stop Jayden Daniels and the Commanders. Take Washington in a shootout."
Watch Falcons vs. 49ers on Peacock
Atlanta Falcons vs. San Francisco 49ers
- Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Levi's Stadium (Santa Clara, California)
- TV: NBC
- Streaming: Peacock, Fubo
- Spread: 49ers (-2.5)
Sporting News: 49ers 24, Falcons 19
"The injury bug continues to hit the 49ers with the loss of Fred Warner (ankle). Brock Purdy (toe) could return this week, and that would give the offense a lift. Kendrick Bourne is coming off back-to-back 100-yard games, too. The Falcons are on a short week. Atlanta has split two road games this season."
BetMGM: Falcons cover
A problem exists handicapping the 49ers: Who is playing? It sounds like Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Ricky Pearsall could all return on Sunday. ... Nick Bosa and Fred Warner are both out for the year, leaving Robert Saleh with an island of misfit toys on defense."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions
- Date: Monday, Oct. 20
- Time: 7 p.m. ET

- Spread: Lions (-4.5)
ESPN: Bucs luck runs out
"This luckbox Buccaneers run is coming to a screeching halt at some point in the near future, so we might as well lean into the projected regression with a Lions team playing at home off a loss. Tampa Bay is now 5-1 on the season with a point differential of +14. To put that into perspective, the Seahawks are 4-2 with a point differential of +49 and the Texans are 2-3 with a point differential of +47."
Action Network: Lions cover spread
"The Lions are simply the much better team and this line should be wider than a TD. The Buccaneers are still dealing with a bunch of key injuries on the offensive line and at wide receiver. Their cornerbacks and running backs are also banged up entering this one. And following Sunday's game, star rookie WR Emeka Egbuka is now dealing with a hamstring issue."

Houston Texans vs. Seattle Seahawks
- Date: Monday, Oct. 20
- Time: 10 p.m. ET
- Location: Lumen Field (Seattle)
- TV: ESPN
- Streaming: ESPN Unlimited, Fubo, Sling
- Spread: Seahawks (-3.5)
Arizona Republic: Texans 20, Seahawks 17
"The Texans had a week off to prepare for this game. Seattle is playing well, but is just 1-2 at home this season. C.J. Stroud and company will pull off the upset to conclude the NFL Week 7 schedule."
Covers.com: Seahawks cover
"Injuries are beginning to pile up for the Seattle Seahawks, while the Houston Texans haven’t played since a 44-10 drubbing of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Still, the Seahawks have been a statistical darling through six games, and the Texans' two wins have unimpressively come against the 1-5 Tennessee Titans and Ravens without star quarterback Lamar Jackson."
