NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) -- The three suspects arrested in connection with the death of a young girl whose remains were found in New Britain appeared in court Tuesday.

They did not enter any plea and will continue to be held on bond.

The 12-year-old girl's remains were found outside an abandoned building on Clark Street last week, when officers responding to a suspicious activity call searched a large container in the backyard.

New Britain police confirmed Friday the remains were of an "adolescent female" and during a press conference Monday, identified them as 12-year-old Jacqueline “Mimi” Torres-Garcia.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed they are investigating the cause and manner of death.
