WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – The suspect arrested in connection with a police standoff in Wilbraham faces five charges.

On Friday, October 3, officers were called at around 7:15 a.m. for reports of a man threatening a person with a firearm. Wilbraham Police Chief Edward Lennon told 22News that when officers arrived, they encountered a man who was armed and firing gunshots.

Due to the threat, the Massachusetts State Police Special Tactical Operations Team was called in to assist, and a shelter-in-place was issued to residents. The suspect was taken into custody at around 12:30 p.m., and the shelter-in-place was lifted. No injuries were reported.

22News obtained the court documents from Palmer District Court on Tuesday on the suspect, 33-year-old Nidal Sholi, a resident of Crane Hill Road. H
