A federal agent mistakenly pulled a gun on a car that was heading into the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in south Portland.

Protests that began in early summer have continued outside Portland’s downtown ICE building.

The crowds have swelled and waned throughout the months. Recently, the number of protesters has risen, with federal agents deployed by the Trump administration in response to the block-wide protest earlier this month.

On Monday, a KATU photographer captured a car leaving the facility as another tried to come in. A federal agent pulled his gun on the car heading in, telling the occupants to get back. Moments later, other federal agents indicated that the driver worked at the building and needed entry.
