ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who was shot near Bridge Blvd. and La Vega Monday afternoon in Albuquerque has died, according to an update provided by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the area around 11:20 a.m. Monday to reports of a shooting. Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim, identified as 35-year-old Luke Alvarez, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Alvarez was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries. BCSO is investigating the shooting as a homicide that stemmed from a road rage incident.

BCSO is asking the community for help in the investigation. Anyone who has information related to the shooting is asked to contact BCSO.
