Five counts of attempted murder have been filed against a Calgary driver accused of intentionally hitting three pedestrians and attempting to hit two more in Lethbridge Friday evening.
About 6:30 p.m. Friday, a vehicle struck three pedestrians and narrowly missed another two in the parking lot of the Visitlethbridge.com Arena, previously called the Enmax Centre, said Lethbridge police in a Tuesday news release. The incident occurred before the Lethbridge Hurricanes hosted a Western Hockey League game at the arena that evening against the Portland Winterhawks.
A 77-year-old woman, 77-year-old man and 46-year-old man each sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to hospital in stable condition and have since been released.
