QUINCY (WGEM) - The government has been shut down since early October. House Rep. Mike Johnson said Monday that he believes this could be the longest shutdown to date.

With the recent changes at the Quincy Regional Airport involving carrier transfers, some say that travel to and from Quincy will become a bit more challenging.

The current shutdown stemmed from the two political parties not agreeing on budget deadlines.

In the 13 days that the shutdown has been underway, local government offices will be operating but will not be at full staff. Other areas will begin to feel the effects of the shutdown. By the first of November, the Quincy Regional Airport could miss its first payment.
