MACEDONIA, S.C. (WBTV) - Two people were hospitalized after a small aircraft crashed in South Carolina on Monday evening.
The Oct. 13 crash happened around 5:30 p.m. when an ultralight went down along Beaver Dam Road in Cherokee County, sister-station WHNS reported.
Video taken by WHNS showed officials investigating in a rural, wooded area that got very dark when the sun went down.
It was unclear how badly the two people were hurt, or what caused the ultralight to crash.
WHNS said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was expected to join the investigation on Tuesday.
An ultralight is a hang glider-like aircraft that is powered by a small engine.
The crash site is just a few miles outside of Macedonia and Gaffney, only about five minutes from I-85.
