A 27-year-old Cambridge man is facing impaired charges after reports of a single-vehicle crash in Paris.

Brant County OPP said on Oct. 10, at about 11:33 p.m., officers responded to a reported collision on Mechanic Street where they found a parked car with extensive front-end damage and a person sitting in the driver’s seat.

Officers, police said, not only believed the car had been involved in a recent collision, but also the licence plate matched the plate of a vehicle that had fled police earlier.

Police spoke to the driver before placing him under arrest and charging him with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration over 80, mischief destroys or damages property, and flight from police.
