Southern (1-5, 0-2 SWAC) had several major contributors not play or get hurt during Southern’s 45-14 loss at Bethune-Cookman (3-4, 2-1).

Running back Mike Franklin was one player who was out due to a foot injury, coach Terrence Graves said during Tuesday's media availability. The Jacksonville State transfer had foot surgery on Oct. 7, according to a post he shared on X.

Franklin didn’t get noticeably hurt during Southern’s 38-13 loss to Jackson State on Sept. 27. Graves said that he doesn’t know if the running back will be out for the season.
