House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan requested former special counsel Jack Smith testify about his Trump prosecutions by Oct. 28.

Jordan accused Smith’s prosecutions of being “partisan and politically motivated,” part of escalating GOP efforts to pursue Trump’s perceived enemies.

Smith’s investigation included FBI analysis of phone records for Republican lawmakers from the week of Jan. 6, 2021.

WASHINGTON — Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee requested Tuesday that Jack Smith, the former Justice Department special counsel, appear for an interview, part of an escalating effort among the GOP to pursue the perceived enemies of President Donald Trump.
