Trying to predict how this NFL season will play out is like picking a winner from a hat, blindfolded, with one arm tied behind your back. Every week, fans and experts shake up their power rankings like a Caesar salad, only to watch the on-field action turn the whole list upside down by Monday night. When you think you have it all figured out, the league throws you a curveball. Here’s a look at the latest NFL power rankings as we head into Week 7.

#1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-1

The Buccaneers, jumping five spots from last week, are the new kings of chaos in the NFL. Tampa Bay just beat the 49ers 30-19 in a tough matchup last Sunday. Baker Mayfield is playing like the MVP of the league so far, although nearly every WR on the roster has visited the injury tent. Somehow, this squad keeps finding ways to get into the end zone. The defense is relentless, and they’re overcoming every obstacle thrown in their way.

#2 Indianapolis Colts 5-1

The Colts surge to second place after taking down the Cardinals 31-27. Daniel Jones, who took the reins this season, is proving he belongs in this league. He’s playing great football, spreading the ball around and mixing in critical runs. It’s a complete turnaround for a team that had real questions at quarterback coming into the year. Star Running back Jonathan Taylor is playing at an elite level as well. Their only challenge now is to prove their wins aren’t just a product of a soft early schedule.

#3 Philadelphia Eagles 4-2 - (Previous Rank (2)

The defending Super Bowl champs drop again after getting walloped by the Giants, 17-34. Their offensive line is banged up, and this group doesn’t have the fire it showed during last winter’s playoff run. Philly needs to rediscover its old hunger before the season slips away. The talent is still there, but somebody needs to light a spark in that locker room.

#4 Detroit Lions 4-2 - Previous Rank (1)

Detroit’s offense is still among the league’s most explosive, but the Lions just lost to the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, 17-30, and now rely on bandages and hope to hold their secondary together. With all of their top corners out injured and star Brian Branch set to miss the next game due to a suspension, the defense is suddenly the shakiest part of an otherwise dynamic team. The Lions can score with anybody, but stopping opponents is an entirely different challenge right now.

#5 Green Bay Packers 3-1-1

After handling the Bengals 27-18, the Packers are one of four teams in the NFL with only one loss. Jordan Love looks comfortable and confident, and the defense is starting to gel at the right time. The Packers are the only team in the NFL that has held a double-digit lead in every game this season.

Strap in, enjoy the ride, and get ready to reshuffle everything once again.
