A quartet of fall season arrivals began previews on Broadway last week, helping to boost the total 31-show gross to $39,416,736 , a 25% jump over the previous week when there were 27 shows.

And as if to show the newcomers what success looks like, Hamilton , in its 10th year on Broadway, scored its best-ever weekly gross, taking in a massive $4,042,906 . The Lin-Manuel Miranda musical, always a top seller, has been reinvigorated lately with the limited engagement return of original cast member Leslie Odom, Jr. (his run ends November 26).

Among the newcomers, two were sell-outs: The Queen of Versaille s , starring Kristin Chenoweth and F. Murray Abraham, took in $775,752 for four previews at the St. James (opening night is November 9); and Ragtime , scoring $1,
